Austin Area Association for Bilingual Education

Who are we?

We are a group of teachers, parents and community members who are advocates for the education of linguistically and culturally diverse students in the Austin, Texas area and surrounding communities (Round Rock, Leander, Cedar Park, Pflugerville, Manor, Bastrop, Kyle, San Marcos, Del Valle, Georgetown, Lakeway, Lake Travis, etc.)


To be a transformative networking space that collectively fosters agency and advocacy in the multicultural and multilingual community.


✯  To support the collaboration and co-construction of knowledge with bilingual educators.

✯ To harness the collective knowledge and skills of families and community members.

✯  To advocate for dual language programs with community members and leaders.

✯  To promote the effective implementation of the content, procedures and philosophy of bilingual/multicultural education policy in Austin area schools.

✯  To develop and influence public opinion on bilingual education

✯  To collaborate with TABE, school districts, universities, and community partnerships in the promotion of bilingual/multicultural education.
